hi im new to the forums
im on here because i am confused about my athsma
i have had athsma since childhood
in my adult life i have noticed that my athsma gets worse sometimes.
normally this lasts several weeks/months in a row, where my inhalers will have limited effectiveness, and in some cases no effect.
this can affect my life, stops me doing exercise etc.
there seems to be no rhyme nor reason to it from what i can tell.
i have had the theory that it may be related to the climate, related to the prescence of dust mites, dampness, one time i even threw out a gas heater because i though it was the culprit . (i still dont know if i was right)
the truth is i really i have no clue as to what it is, or if it is a number of things.
it can also be the case that sleeping in certain rooms, particularly small rooms with poor ventilation can bring about the worst cases of it.
again i have no scientific explanation as to why that would be the case.
currently i have moved into a house and it seems to have brought it on, again...i cannot understand because it is a well ventilated room and i have cleaned and hoovered it out. but for some reason my lungs are telling me there is something there that should not be there.
i have went to the doctor many times in my life with this complaint and the doctors in my country seem to have no clue.
one time i went on holidays to cuba, and went to a doctor there (for something completely different) my breathing happened to be also suffering at the time and while i was there she identified that i had a chest infection, she gave me some anti biotics and it worked, my breathing was MUCH better...that made me wonder if perhaps im having chest infections all my life? anything is possible. but doctors in ireland seem reluctant to do ANYTHING for me apart from just give me the same old inhalers.
since my problem is apparently not in their "text book", so to speak, my complaints just fall on deaf ears. :(
any ideas?
