I can't believe I have made it through the last two months since my ligament repair. The recovery has been painful and difficult because I am living alone. I had some friends and neighbor who helped me. For the most part, I was alone. I am now almost 2 months since surgery. I saw the surgeon today and he cleared me to start transitioning out of the boot and move to a brace in PT and when I am home. I can't start until I see PT at my next appt on Thursday. While I am at work, I still need to be in the boot for another month. The biggest problem that I am facing is the intense nerve pain on the top of the foot. He did prescribe a compound cream that I can rub on the area twice a day. I hope it works.
What can I expect when I transition out of the boot and move to the brace? Did anyone else experience nerve pain (burning, pin pricks) on the top part of the foot as well as tingling on heel during walking.
