Saturday night I went to ER to discover that I have a small blood clot on my upper right Lung. The er dr gave me a script for eliquis 10mg and let me go home--with pcp follow up within 2days. All my vitals and blood work are perfect including my o2 was 100, blood pressure, pulse, heart all normal and strong even though I felt anxious and scared--I went to er because I have been having trouble taking that deep satisfying breath and I just couldn't take it anymore! It started about 2 weeks ago. My d-dimer test was negative for clots but the dr followed his gut instinct and did a cat scan of my lung with contrast where it showed a small blood clot on my upper right Lung. I have taken the eliquis since Saturday night and it still doesn't seem to be helping me breath deeply easily. I have an appt tomorrow morning to see a specialist. I am just wondering if anyone has treated a small blood clot in their lung at home? My friends are all telling me I should go back to hospital. I hope this is the right forum to post this on!
Small pulmonary embolism and treatment at home!!
