Afraid Afraid Afriad

First off I'm an active, well once very active, 71 year old female. August 23 I go back for a second hip replacement on left leg. The first was over four years ago on my right leg. The hip did well but a nerve was damaged, leaving my right foot and ankle semi-paralyzed for life. I take Gabapentin three times a day, at 600mg a dose. Needless to say I've been horrified of another bad outcome. Been in pain management a couple years because I can't face this surgery. Fell two months ago, breaking my wrist and making the left hip worse. Can no longer avoid the surgery.... This time it will be a more experienced dr. and a different hospital. Guess I'm hoping to find someone else with these fears, find out how to manage. I look to God, but my faith has never been strong as I'd like................... I need to mention too, recovery was horribly long painful for me, maybe I'm a wimp. Thinking it took over a month for nerve pain to be acknowledged, and I was finally put on Gabapentin.
