Hello,
This is my first post on this board.
I have one LPR symptom...mostly breathlessness feeling...for about 3 months now.
Looking back I realize I had this once in a while in past few years, but would go away in a couple days max. (I am 50 yrs old)
This time its ongoing, and on researching it online, I find that it could be LPR.
I already got an all clear from my cardiologist, pulmonologist, and GI(had Upper and lower Endoscopy). I have ENT appointment next week, but not expecting anything new.
I also normally tread mill daily for 20 to 30 minutes, from 2.5 to 3.5 mph on 7 deg incline without my breathlessness getting affected. (In fact I feel better after the exercise).
My pulsoxymeter reading is also normal (96 to 98 % oxygen).
My question is that if this is LPR, then should I not be having other symptoms associated with LPR? I don't have any other symptoms at all. (except a low resting heart rate around 45 to 55 although it does reach 140 during treadmill, but my cardio says its ok since I don't feel dizzy).
Only thing I can think of is maybe my lungs are more sensitive due to I was a smoker for 22 years before quitting about 3 years ago, so even small amount of airway reflux affects lungs while rest of my GI/resp system is able to handle it and not produce symptoms.
I have recently started taking zinc/B12/Mg/Vit-D supplemets in case if I am deficient but doesn't seem to be helping so far.
Also I recently started taking, Antacids, Gaviscon Advance(from UK) after meals, but so far in 2 weeks, I can't see any impact. Also tried sucralfate for about 2 weeks but didn't seem to help. Also I keep a small water misting bottle of alkaline water. I spray into my eyes/ears/nose/mouth and drink couple sips periodically in hopes to keep acid at bay, and hopefully to get some alkaline mist into my lungs to counter the pepsin if present.
Does anyone on this board have any other ideas what it might be, and how to diagnose it, and what else I can try?
Thanks for any suggestions
