I had a small umbilical hernia repaired with mesh in October 2016.
Over the past few weeks, I'm getting a very sharp pain at the bottom of my navel. I remember directly after the repair, this area was hard and the surgeon said it was where the mesh was.
The pain used to come and go but lately it is almost constant and more painful at the end of the day. It sometimes get so sensitive that it is unbearable to touch.
I cannot see any bulges though.
Could this mean that there is a problem with the repair?
