Anxiety About Being Homeless Soon

Hi, I'm having bad anxiety over my housing. I've been at my address for 12 years, always paid rent on time, followed the rules etc...on Aug 3rd Windermere Management (Whatcom County WA) announced to us Section 8 tenants that we no longer can live on their properties; they are refusing our Section 8 which apparently is legal here in Whatcom County. This decision is affecting over 300 tenants of Windermere, most of which are disabled in some way. The problem is, Windermere controls 80% of the housing market!! I've been all over the newspaper, craigslist and the 'thrifty nickel' and there ARE apartments, but they're controlled by Windermere and say "no public housing".
It wouldn't be so bad but I've been venting to my sister about this...she owns her home and she doesn't respect my urgency in finding another place. Technically my lease expires in June of 2017 but I don't trust Windermere at this point. In Whatcom County the legal eviction notice is 20 days, doesn't matter if you're disabled or not, 20 days notice is legal. Good luck coming up with a deposit AND rent in 20 days if you're on a fixed income. My sister is telling me to relax and take my time searching, don't grab the first thing, but she's not comprehending the fact that housing is finite here and I'm competing with a crowd of people who are just as desperate to find a home as I am. I'm blessed in that I have a car, so I can search outside city limits unlike other people, but still, it's a tight situation.
Thanks for listening, it helped to let some steam off!!
Will accept any good thoughts and vibes from afar, thanks!!
