Help! I broke my heel last week from a five foot fall and I am horrified of the diagnosis and my future. I am scheduled for ORIF surgery in a few days. Which is about 10 days from accident. My swelling and black and blue is gone done a lot. My most severe pain is when I go to bed and raise my foot up on pillows while in my knee high boot.
All I take is a few Tylenol sometimes. There is pain but I am not big on meds for my own personal reasons. I'm 52 healthy no other illnesses. Non smoker,
"Comminuted intra-articulate calcaneus fracture. With extension into the sub talar joint. And flattening of Boehlers angle. There is also extension into the Achilles' tendon insertion site. The ankle mortise is anatomic."
