What can I try next? GERD, Barretts, hiatus hernia, Bravo, shortness of breath.....

Hi - I was told I have acid reflux/GERD a few years ago, but PPIs never seemed to touch it, and it seemed I could control it by being careful what I ate.

But in February the symptoms suddenly became so severe. I had the familiar lump in my throat, difficult swallowing, esophageal spasms (like someone is stabbing me where my espophagus meets my stomach), etc...This had all happened before, but not like this. So I finally got another endoscopy scheduled and the pathology report came back that I have Barrett's Esophagus. My gastroenterologist says I do not have Barrett's, so I asked how can that be if the pathology report says I do. His reply was that he saw my esophagus and it depends where the biopsy was taken. Has this ever happened to anyone?

PPIs and H2 blockers didn't give me any relief and by May, I was in a terrible depression because of the daily pain and having to carry on raising a family and working full time... My Gastro dr. let me try every PPI imaginable and finally sent me to Mayo Clinic (it took 3 months to get an appt). Now they are going to do a Bravo test next month. Has anyone ever had this?

Lately, I have started having an increased heart rate out of the blue and dizziness, but the most disconcerting thing is that I have tingling and weakness in my arms and legs and feel like I am going to pass out... It is so scary. I've been to the cardiologist over the past few years and everything was normal. I am going to go again in a couple of weeks to check again.

So in a nutshell, here are my issues and what I've done to try and resolve them. I would love to know if anyone has these and what I could possibly try next:

My Problems

· Constant burning in throat & esophagus even after eating alkaline foods (oatmeal, salad greens, etc.) and taking medication, started in February (though not the first time), and got much worse by May
· Sore throat
· Shortness of breath sometimes (like I can’t get a deep breath)
· Esophageal spasms
· Burning at bottom of esophagus where it meets stomach
· Constant clearing of throat mucus (especially after eating) & cough that doesn't go away
· Seems like I stay unusually full & it takes a long time to digest protein (seems like the problem is made worse if I drink protein shakes)
· Rapid heart rate after eating which can last the rest of the day and evening (very unpleasant and uncomfortable)
· Shortness of breath
· Bloated, stuffed feeling (even after hardly eating, e.g. after plain salad greens) – can’t even breathe, I’m so full
· Painful near rib cage (could this my hiatal hernia causing it)
· Difficulty swallowing (especially liquids - it's like the liquid gets stuck, causing a burp, & then flows through)
· Feeling like something is stuck in throat
Goosebumps and shivers/weakness, short of breath, out of the blue

What I have been doing since February 2016 to try to resolve the issues (though none have seemed to help so far):

· PPIs (have tried omeprazole, pantoprazole, Dexilant, lansoprazole, rabeprazole) – currently taking Prilosec OTC (omeprazole magnesium) – The problem is that after on PPIs for a few days, it seems like nothing moves through my stomach – no stomach noises, no hunger, just the constant feeling like I’m so stuffed that I can’t breathe.
· H2 blockers (Zantac, Tagamet)
· Baking soda every evening (1-2 tsp)
· Gaviscon 6-8 Tbsp/day
· Carafate (sucralfate)
· GI cocktail (usually maalox and Lidocaine mixture)
· Cough drops for sore throat
· Psyllium husks to soak up acid
· Raised head of bed 8 inches
· More vegetables (plain salad greens & heaps of fresh parsley)
· Lost 20 lbs
· Jogging 15 min & walking 30 min 3-4x/week

I did try Prilosec OTC (Omeprazole Magnesium) and prescription Omeprazole, and the Prilosec OTC seemed to give some slight relief (could it be because of magnesium), but I stopped because of the strange arm and leg weakness/tingling/shortness of breath/butterflies in stomach because I was worried maybe this was causing it.

I am SO sorry for such a long post, but I just can't think of what else to try and there is so much I am learning from this board. Thank you in advance for any help or comments (even if you just comment that you have the same symptoms!). It helps to know I am not alone...
