Because my current PM Dr's nurse has now messed up my Prior Authorization for Suboxone THREE TIMES, I am no longer being covered ($800 out of pocket). My Drs nurse said, "I'm not doing any more Prior Authorizations." So, I've decided to see a new PM Dr.
I recently picked up my medical records from my current PM and it mentions the word ADDICT multiple times. I am most certainly not an addict. I am thinking it may cause problems with my future PM Dr, and seeing that it isn't true, I scanned it into my computer and PhotoShopped all mentions of addiction out of the records. Seeing as my future Dr. can't actually get access to my old PM records without my consent, there's no way they can find out I changed it.
I have absolutely no moral qualm with doing this, seeing as it's a lie in the first place and it could prevent me from getting the treatment I need. However, in the eyes of the law, is this illegal?
