You know, it's funny...I have an 18 month old puppy that I'm training to be my Service Animal for my anxiety. She already knows to interrupt my hand-rubbing and face-wiping actions that are the onset of an anxiety episode. Here's the funny part, I've been stressing out over eliminating toxic 'friends' and also about new medication --my puppy kept jumping on me and jumping on me, I was telling her "NO" but she kept doing it. Finally it occurred to me that she's trying to interrupt my anxiety and divert my attention to something else!! When I realized that, her behavior changed and she quit jumping on me!! What a good girl, right??
