So I'm going to be 43 this year and I don't know whether I've started perimenopause or not, or what to expect. While still regular, my periods have gotten significantly shorter. Most months are only 2 days and the latter half of the third day, very rarely 3 full days.
I don't have anyone to talk to. Not a lot of female older relatives. My mother's mother died when I was young, family rumor is that she was still having her period in her early 60s. My mother is 61, and while I don't know about this year, last year still going strong. Finally a doctor got around to running blood work on her and found that she had gone through full blown menopause at least a few years ago but something was tricking her body into continuing. My dad's side, both my grandmother and my aunt had pre-menopause full hysterectomies. That's it for the older female population in my family, so no one to really ask.
Any words of wisdom?
