Hello, I am new to the board. I recently had a doctors appointment in which I brought up some issues that have been bothering me for the last few years now.
This includes: numbness in the toes, numbness in the pinky and ring fingers and outer hands (both sides), severe muscle cramps in the feet to the point that my feet will contort for several painful minutes, muscle cramps in my calf where it balls up for 20 plus minutes, 24/7 joint pain in only ONE top finger joint in my left hand for several weeks now, and an unexplained rash happening over the last year that first started out on my eyelids and has now began presenting around my chin/mouth (not a butterfly rash consistent w lupus..)
Note, that yes I have pain. However, I was in a car accident at 16 and broke my pelvis and I have had 7 surgeries since. I am now 29 - but I've always contributed my pain to this. Any pain in my hips/knees - car accident. I have bad TMJ, so any pain in my shoulders/neck I've contributed to my TMJ.
Randomly, there have been times where its hard to make a fist in the mornings. Most always, I can barely stand up after having my knees bent.
Okay, so my NP ordered a series of labs to include an ANA Panel and a CCP AB IGG. Both of those came back positive. My RA Factor came back negative. My Ana was 1:160 with a homogeneous pattern. My NP suggested lupus.. and I will be following up with a rheumatologist here soon.
Also, my vitamin D was low.
I also had a sleep study done 4 years ago for extreme fatigue and parasomnias at night. At the time, it came back positive for extreme alpha-wave intrusions, which was happening in my slow wave sleep and each time one would intrude, I would be put into a stage 2 sleep where I stayed most of the night.. hence being tired all the time despite sleeping - none of it was restful. The neurologist asked me at the time if I was having pain, because an alpha wave intrustion is a pain intrusion, and is normally seen in patients with fibromyalgia. At the time I blew her off, I said of course I have pain.. but I've also had several painful surgeries. Wondering if it is connected afterall.
From those results, any clues? She left me a voicemail with the findings and concerns and sent me the lab results.. I hate not knowing till I see the rheumatologist. Please, any ideas? Is this similar to what any of your labs looked like? I really don't know much about autoimmune diseases at this point. I am a happy 29 year old mommy with 3 kiddos.
