Hi there. I apologize in advance for the long post. I'm 35, and after 10+ years of concentrated health issues, I've Finally landed a family doctor, so hopefully the battle just goes uphill from here. I can hope, right? I'm not going to assume I have this or that...to be honest I have been dealing with symptoms that appear to be common /uncommon in multiple auto immune diseases or other ailments. I guess I'm hoping maybe someone on here has been through similar and can advise me of how to work with my doctor.
My family has a history of MS, Rhumatoid Arthritis, Diabetes, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Scoriasis(sp), Cancer and Heart Disease. This has prompted my new doctor to want to check into these things as he says they are all auto immune.
At 2 yo I nearly died from severe pneumonia . At 14 I was diagnosed with pleurisy and costalchondritis (sp). At 28 I was diagnosed with GERD, multilevel disk degenerative disease via x ray (which was then ruled out via another Dr and a different xray).
For the last 10+ years I have been dealing with quite a few embarrassing, painful and strange happenings. For a while, certain this would come for a day or 2 and then subside or change to something different, but for the last couple years, things have gotten more noticeable and frequent. I realize this is a comprehensive list of "symptoms" and that there are many things that can create these, but maybe someone might be able to relate?
-vision problems: blurry or jittery vision, eye pain, generally one eye at a time (was told by OP I have deep angles)
-pain that radiates from back of head/neck down back to arms or legs
-jolts or spasms in arms or legs. Jumping? Shock type feeling usually from back or shoulders down to hands or legs. Sometimes sock feeling makes me nearly jump from my seat. Stabbing or pin pricking sensations or wet feeling.
-loss of feeling in a hand, numbness, dropping things (like Frigging hot drinks on myself)
-tripping on absolutly nothing...myself maybe (clumsey)
-difficulty swallowing (hiatus hernia and several other things ruled out in 2011 via GI upper series scope + barium swallow)
-feeling like I've pee'd myself (but have not), difficulty with urinating and BM
-joint pain (pretty much every joint you can imagine, especially shoulders and hips)
-concentration and mood changes/issues
-recent liver function test results of high elevation (AST 604, ALT 311 and 2 others very high, bilirubin normal)
-organ inflammation and pressure (feels like everything pushing to get out of my body, hard abdominal masses upper right and left quadrants)
-extreme fatigue
-general overall weakness/lethargy
-intolerance to heat/humidity
-rashes
-skin crawling feeling
-tight chest feeling
I'm sure there is more but I cannot think of them now. I recorded them over the years and gave the info to my new doc. I see him again on Monday for full physical and then to go from there.
