I was recently diagnosed HSV2 + through an IgG test. My antibody level was very high (23). Does this mean I have had this for a while? Is the higher the number the better indicator of the body fighting the disease and less chance of reoccurances?
I tested negative for HSV1 but experienced my first cold sore about 10 days ago. Approximately a week after cold sore appeared I had a red spot on my left cheek, and what looked like tiny blisters there. About 4 days later the right side of my face began itching and burning and I have what looks like a tiny horseshoe of blisters there too! Benadryl helped the itch and to dry/shrink blisters. From what I've read on various sites, I shouldn't be able to transfer the virus from spot to spot with this high of antibody count. Is this normal? Do I always need to be concerned about my cheeks now?
