Could it be Lyme disease?

Hi,

Hoping this group can help me understand what is going on. I started being sick a few days after returning from a trip to North Carolina in late April- early May.

It started like a normal flu, soar throat, fever, nose congestion, extreme fatigue. Then it migrated to my ears feeling full and very painful. The flu symptoms never went away. For over 3 months now, I have been extremely fatigued, head and sinus pressure (forehead and behind and around my eyes), constant chills, ears full, I have mucus running down my throat, blocked nose, cough and breathing difficulties. After one month, I consulted my doctor and we tried two different antibiotics for short period of times with no improvement. She concluded I was suffering from post-viral symptoms. My blood work was normal.

I sleep 12 hours every night and when I wake up I am just as tired. I have trouble focusing there is so much pressure in my head. And obviously, I am very depressed and have anxiety related to this unexplained illness. I am not able to work.

It just occured to me now that during my trip to North Carolina, I went trail running. The trail was not well groomed and branches rubbed on my legs, shoulders, back. I was biten many times, not sure by what. I didnt see any typical lyme rash but at the time, I was not sick and was not really monitoring my body. My doctor says that if there was no rash and I didn't see an actual insect, then its impossible to have Lyme.

Is it worth getting tested for Lyme? Are the tests accurate in Canada?

Thank you in advance for your help and I hope everyone on this board will start feeling better soon.
