I am 16 years old and tore my Ulnar Collateral Ligament in my thumb playing lacrosse. I have had an MRI which showed that the ligament is completely torn through but not displaced. My main priority is being able to play lacrosse again but also I want to avoid having problems with my thumb in the future considering that I am still very young. If I was not to have the surgery I am concerned that I will run into problems with the ligament later in life including chronic instability and arthritis.
Completely torn UCL thumb is surgery a good idea
